Scaling up Local Impact into Planetary Potential

DRAG TO NAVIGATE ‹ ›

CONTEXT

The UK stands at a critical moment to tackle climate issues, and the city of Cambridge, with its world class University and world-renowned science and technology cluster is primed to lead. But Cambridge faces challenges faced by many innovation hubs around the world, from Silicon Valley to Shenzhen - how can you have a thriving start-up ecosystem, without increasing local inequality?

COMMISSION

The Place Bureau worked with the Crown Estate developing a vision for a next generation business park. One that integrates local housing amongst the commercial space and local facilities. This project aims to bridge the gap in health and attainment outcomes that have been widening in the city. It also aims to capitalise on The Crown Estate’s national networks to ensure that success can scale - through local impacts, to national opportunities and planetary potential.
